Impact of Structural Binding Energies on Dissolution Rates for Single Faceted-Crystals

This study investigates the effect of solid-state intermolecular binding energies on dissolution rates single faceted-crystals. The nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen is employed in a 95% v/v ethanol:water solution as model system for single-crystal experiments cell at undersaturation ranging from 1.36% to 8.67%. In vitro crystals quantified by capturing images during process fixed time intervals using camera mounted an inverted optical microscope. regression rate crystal faces with measured image analysis. VisualHabit software used prediction morphology and characterize structure predict relative, face-specific rates. relative calculated based suggest that face (011) dissolves faster than (002). experimental results reveal (002) change nonlinearly function undersaturation. energy critically evaluated performance confronted measurements. suggests pathway understand microscopic level design regulating bioavailability optimally processes.
